Sports Multimedia Journalist at KOLR10/KOZL in Springfield, MO
I am a recent 2013 graduate of Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. I received my Bachelor of Science in Digital Arts and a minor in Photography, and bring a wealth of knowledge about media production and the important aspects of what makes a project successful in fulfilling its purpose. I initially embarked on this crazy journey of media originally through my love for photography; it has since expanded to live media productions, sports production, broadcasting, graphic design, and video. I took my first photography class back in high school, and never looked back in terms of what I wanted to do for a living.
I received a job straight out of school at KOLR10/ KOZL in Springfield initially as a Production Assistant, and have since made my way into the sports department as a full-time Multimedia Journalist. Although I cover an array of stories, I mainly focus on the Missouri State Bears basketball and football teams while they are in season. It has been a dream come true to focus on collegiate sports, and to share the stories that lie within. While the games are fun, the better stories are often on the players themselves; As I quickly learned in this business, everyone has a story, and I am privileged to tell them!
The news business often doesn’t allow time for an in-depth, planned out story, but I strive to make time for them. My background in photography and video production begs for perfection, and I enjoy setting up lights, taking time-lapses, color correcting video, setting up multiple cameras, and creating graphics when time allows to include in my stories. To see some of my stories, head over to my Portfolio Page or my YouTube to check them out!
When I get any sorts of free time , I can either be found at my house relaxing or at the gym working out. I have a passion for water, and love to be outdoors as much as possible when the weather is nice outside; camping, biking, running, boating are the usual activities. I am a proud dog owner, and my yellow lab, Zona, is often right by my side. She is my companion when it comes to all things outdoors, the blurred line between reality and dreaming of a perfect life.
I am a native of Chandler, Arizona where I graduated from Hamilton High School in 2009. I lettered in Tennis and Football, and went on to play collegiate baseball for Evangel for 2 years.
